To All Holland Township Residents Connected to the Sewer System:
The 2011 rate will be $530.00, or $132.50 per quarter.
This is an annual increase of $50.00.
The Department of Environmental Protection mandated upgrades to the Milford sewer plant been completed. Holland Township is now responsible for 50% of the cost of the upgrades along with the annual operating expenses. The total payout to Milford for 2011 is $328,440.00. In addition, Holland Township incurs expenses such as salary for the sewer collector, cost of billing, auditor services, etc. We also fund a maintenance account for unexpected problems that may arise. In total our sewer costs for 2011 are $370,840.00. This amount is divided by the number of sewer units and billed to the property owners.
Members of the Holland Township Committee along with the Township's CFO reviewed all expenses for the coming year and did their best to make sure residents of the Township are served by the sewer utility in most economical way. The increase is largely due to the new debt payments.
