TAX RATE / $100 ASSESSED VALUE
Holland Township’s total anticipated revenue for 2007 is $ 4,101,242. Municipal expenses are $4,070,800 and our ratables are $767,370,480. Our 2007 tax rate is $1.83/$100 of assessed valuation, a 1.67% increase from 2006. The growth rate remains about the same: 14 building permits were issued in 2006 and so far 3 have been issued in 2007. This is one of the lowest rates in New Jersey. Conflicting mandates coming out of Trenton cause conflicting opinions. There are no plans for 500 apartments. There are no plans for high rise apartments. There are no plans for increased growth. There are plans to meet legally designated Council on Affordable Housing (COAH). Round 1 called for 26 rehabilitated units and 26 are completed. Our Round 2 obligation is 21 units (5 rehab & 16 new units). To date we have completed the 5 rehab units, 6 accessory apartments and 4 Regional Contribution Agreements. That leaves us with an outstanding 6 units that may be carried over to Round 3. The Metropolitan Planning Organization’s projected growth for Holland Township for 2005 – 2015 is 90 units which will make us responsible for 10 affordable units. The method to implement these has not been finalized. We are continuing to follow a proven game plan. If you have other ideas, please call us or attend a Township Committee meeting held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month.
